Nick Clegg announces 3000% increase in tax investigations

Tens of thousands will face intrusive new tax investigations under plans unveiled by the Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg.”

The government “will pursue a £900 million drive that will see the number of people targeted for tax checks rise from 5000 to 150,000. Half of all people paying the 50p top rate of tax will have their tax affairs raked over by a dedicated team of investigators...........”

The Deputy PM has vowed to bring in intrusive new tax investigations, also suggested avoiding tax in such straitened times was immoral.
